Korpiklaani a fost fondata in 2003 in Finlanda, Korpiklaani insemnand Clanul Padurii, genul abordat de ei fiind Folk Metal. In 2003 semneaza un contract cu casa de discuri Napalm Records si lanseaza albumul de debut Spirit Of The Forest, cu care au mult succes. In 2005 lanseaza al doilea album intitulat Voice Of Wilderness.
